This commitment reflects the deeply held values of our founder, who installed his first WordPress site in 2004 – just one year after the project’s initial launch. At a time when installations were still manual, he immersed himself in the young WordPress forums, helping newcomers, running workshops for business owners, and frequently interacting with core contributors.

He participated in the first BarCamp in Austin and helped extend the BarCamp movement into the real estate sector. Through these early efforts, he introduced thousands of people to WordPress and has continued using it for every one of his company websites since.

Now, as the founder of staXscale, he brings that same perspective into the hosting space. While staXscale is a new, founder-led company, our roots run deep. This background is why he personally insisted on an aggressive 15% contribution – three times the aspirational 5% benchmark of the Five for the Future movement.

We intentionally set this higher (adding an extra 5% above our initial target) because we know many of our shared and dedicated hosting clients will be running WordPress sites without being on the Autopilot program. This adjustment reflects our commitment to fairness and stewardship across our entire customer base, not just those on managed WordPress plans.
